切，说是整理旧日志，其实就是第X次折腾图床吧？

说对了！哥就是在折腾图床！但哥也是无奈的，MSN外链的速度有多慢同学们知道吗？10年前用作外链的几个MSN服务器到现在也没换过这部分图片必须解放出来。再有，2010-2012年间不少图片很混乱的散在各个服务器上，还有几百兆内容散漫的丢在自家服务器上没按照月份或者文章标题排列，文件名也是各式各样，找起来各种困难，实在不能忍的！

以及除了图床问题，还有从前在从清华博客到MSN到wordpress等很多平台上写，用过writer等各种工具，代码各种混乱，有<div>开头的，有<span>开头的，还有<p>开头的，以及超链接还有MSN时代.entry结尾的、wordpress.com时代wordpress.com结尾的、以中文名链接的……全都不符合如今代码精简的标准了。

所以嘲笑就嘲笑吧，虽然人肉优化是慢了点，但效果还是挺显著的，要知道，哪怕每篇文章删除几个冗余字符+几张冗余图片，几百篇都有几十个Mb可以节约。经过几周优化，内容已经从88%的磁盘占有率降低到74%了。

p.s. 今天收到一封“英国人民来信”，询问Leaflet Maps Marker Pro插件是否值得购买。

My name's Sam, and I just read your review of Leaflet Maps Marker Pro (https://www.mapsmarker.com/testimonial/the-best-map-plugin-for-wordpress/). I'm looking for a maps plugin for my blog, but feeling a little overwhelmed for choice and confused as to which plugin would be best for the functionality I require. Is seems that you are knowledgable and un-biased on the subject, so I wondered if I might ask you which plugin you think best given my requirements below? I understand if you're too busy, so no worries if not.

Basically, I'm hitchhiking to from the UK to your homeland, China, and would like a map on my blog with the following functionality:

1. Track my route - developing it each day
2. Colour-code my route depending on the mode of travel (hitchhiking, trains etc.)
3. Mark colour-coded checkpoints (red for camp spots, green for beautiful landscapes etc.)
4. Mark blogposts with links to them
5. Being able to toggle various components would be awesome but not essential (e.g. so user could just see hitchhiking routes, or just green landscape markers)

Is there a free maps plugin that would handle this? Or would I need Leaflet Maps Marker pro or similar?

Hello Samuel,

Nice to meet you. It would be good if you ask me questions about this plugin. I will try to explain and answer your questions in details. Please forgive me if my English is not as good to you.

First of all, admire your journey from UK to China by foot! It sounds so exciting! I would be happy if there is a blog so I may see frequent blogging.

About the plugin: I use this one since Google service was banned years ago in China (so as blogspot, youtube, facebook...a lot foreign services containing separating n anti-china contents. Damn). Yes it is a lost to Chinese, but considering the leaking of user info to US goverment, I began to understand.. Nevertheless, this plugin was the best of all back then, and probably best of all now. I havent been probing other plugins since I use this one, so if you have other good ones you could tell me.

1. Track my route - developing it each day

No problem as long as you hv a decent equipment. I am no heavy user so i dont use pro equipments such as Garmin, but my mobile phone with some good apps just work fine.

P.s. The euipment must export the route file (.gpx) to upload to your server (not necessarily wordpress server, but has to have a link so the maps marker plugin can link)

You can even develop the base map if you choose to use open steet map! I develop this one n I love it.

2. Colour-code my route depending on the mode of travel (hitchhiking, trains etc.)

A: You can find option that can change route string color and width. Not sure if there is an option for each mode a color, I may hv to check this later on.

3. Mark colour-coded checkpoints (red for camp spots, green for beautiful landscapes etc.)

A: no problem. You will find hundreds of icons in plugin, or even make yours, like me. See my map synyan.cn/footprints

4. Mark blogposts with links to them

A: works fine.

5. Being able to toggle various components would be awesome but not essential (e.g. so user could just see hitchhiking routes, or just green landscape markers)

A: there is a mode called multi-layer, you can "overlap" one layer over another, or one another. Which is to say you can put route on one map (layer), then landscape icons on another map. Then overlap and show them together. It also can solve point two question. You can set diff color for diff route in diff layer.

6. Is there a free maps plugin that would handle this? Or would I need Leaflet Maps Marker pro or similar?

A: there is a leaflet maps marker free version, you may google it or search in wordpress.org's plugin base. But i strongly recommend you use Pro version of it as it provides advanced function as well as very frequent updating. You could even reach the author Robert by email asking updating then you find the update comes up in the next ver.
